This is an introductory course aimed at students who wish to embark on a career or gain qualifications in the construction industry, with a particular emphasis on renewable energy technology. It is ideally suited for students who wish to continue their education at third level or aspire to apprenticeships in the construction industry. It is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills associated with environmentally building and construction technology. The course enables students to develop practical skills in the areas sustainable construction technologies.

Plunket College of Further Education intends offering the sustainable construction modules as an integral part of the course as Irelands National Skills Strategy – 2025 (DES, 2016) predicts ‘Green Economy Skills’ as a sector specific skills need. The inclusion of Information Technology modules will upskill participants for niche construction opportunities for employment or progression to Third Level.

Minimum 5 Passes in Leaving Certificate or
QQI Level 4 – Major Award or
Equivalent International Qualifications or
Mature Applicants – Mature students do not require formal educational qualifications
There are no CAO points requirements for entry to any Post Leaving Certificate or Pre Apprenticeship Courses.

On successful completion of course Students can progress through the Higher Education Links Scheme for entry to year one of a range of higher certificate and degree programmes at Institutes of Technology and Universities. CAO.ie
